How to hide my WordPress theme and plugins from theme detectors

Using a WordPress theme detector, any visitor to a WordPress website can detect the theme and plugins installed on the site.

People routinely visit your website and wonder about the WordPress theme you are using.

They can use a WordPress theme detector to determine which theme you are using.

Step-by-step instructions

In this tutorial, we will use the WP Hide and Security Enhancer plugin, which is a free WordPress plugin available in the WordPress plugin directory.

1. Install the plugin on your website.

2. Activate the plugin after it has been installed.

On the left-hand sidebar of the WordPress dashboard, you should now see a WP Hide tab.

3. Navigate to and click on the tab.

You can skip the setup page.

4. Go to the rewrite tab, which is located beneath the Setup tab.

5. Here, you can go through each of the tabs and add any text in the space provided to rewrite the content.

I recommend that you repeat this process for the WP Content, WP Includes, Theme, Plugins, and Uploads tabs, saving each revision before proceeding to the next.
