By accessing or using the service, you are consenting to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information by this privacy policy. If you do not consent to the same, please do not access or use the service.

We may modify this privacy policy at any time without prior notice to you. We will post the revised policy on this page. The revised policy will be effective 180 days from when it is posted, and your continued access to or use of the service after such time will constitute your acceptance of the revised privacy policy.

1. The information we collect

We will collect and process the following personal information about you:

2. How do we collect your information?

We collect and receive information about you in the following manner:

  1. When a user fills out the registration form or otherwise submits personal information,
  2. Interacts with the website
  3. From public sources

Comments

When you leave comments on the service, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it.

After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

3. How do we use your information?

We will use the information that we collect about you for the following purposes:

If we want to use your information for any other purpose, we will ask you for consent and will use your information only upon receiving your consent, and then only for the purpose(s) for which we grant consent, unless we are required to do otherwise by law.

4. The services we use

1. Akismet

We collect information about visitors who comment on sites that use our Akismet anti-spam service. The information we collect depends on how the user sets up Akismet for the site but typically includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).

2. LiteSpeed cache

This site utilizes caching to facilitate a faster response time and a better user experience. Caching potentially stores a duplicate copy of every web page that is on display on this site. All cache files are temporary and are never accessed by any third party, except as necessary to obtain technical support from the cache plugin vendor. Cache files expire on a schedule set by the site administrator, but may easily be purged by the admin before their natural expiration, if necessary. We may use QUIC. cloud services to process and cache your data temporarily.

3. Smush

Note: Smush does not interact with end users on your website. The only input option Smush has is a newsletter subscription for site admins only. If you would like to notify your users of this in your privacy policy, you can use the information below.

Smush sends images to the WPMU DEV servers to optimize them for web use. This includes the transfer of EXIF data. The EXIF data will either be stripped or returned as it is. It is not stored on the WPMU DEV servers.

Smush uses the Stackpath Content Delivery Network (CDN). Stackpath may store web log information of site visitors, including IPs, UAs, referrers, location, and ISP information, for 7 days. Files and images served by the CDN may be stored and served from countries other than your own. Stackpath’s privacy policy can be found here.

Smush uses a third-party email service (Drip) to send informational emails to the site administrator. The administrator’s email address is sent to Drip, and a cookie is set by the service. Only administrator information is collected by Drip.

4. Woocommerce

While you visit our site, we’ll track:

  1. Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
  2. Location, IP address, and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
  3. Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order!

We’ll also use cookies to keep track of your cart’s contents while you’re browsing our site.

When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card or payment details, and optional account information like a username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes such as:

  1. Send you information about your account and order
  2. Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
  3. Process payments and prevent fraud
  4. Set up your account for our store
  5. Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes
  6. Improve our store offerings
  7. Send you marketing messages if you choose to receive them

If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email, and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.

We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it.

We will also store comments or reviews if you choose to leave them.

Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. Our Administrators and Shop Managers can access:

  1. Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and
  2. Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.
  3. Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process refunds and support you.

We accept payments through Paystack. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to Paystack, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.

5. Learndash

We collect information about you during the course purchase process (Paystack), as well as information relating to your course progression and quiz performance.

When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide an email address. We’ll use this information for purposes such as:

  1. Send you information about your account and order
  2. Create your account for our LMS

We store information about you for as long as your account exists. We store course progress, including completion status, quiz scores, assignments, and/or essay submissions (if applicable).

We will also store comments on courses, lessons, topics, assignments, and essays if you choose to leave them.

Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. Our administrators and group leaders can access:

Order information such as your enrolled courses, course progress, and username or email address.

Any additional information added to your WordPress user profile can also be visible to the administrator(s).

6. BuddyPress

When you register for the site, you may be asked to provide certain personal data for display on your profile. The “Name” field is required as well as public, and user profiles are visible to any site visitor. Other profile information may be required or optional, as configured by the site administrator.

User information provided during account registration can be modified or removed on the Profile > Edit panel. In most cases, users also have control over who is able to view a particular piece of profile content, limiting visibility on a field-by-field basis to friends, logged-in users, or administrators only.

Site administrators can read and edit all profile data for all users.

This site records certain user actions, in the form of “activity” data. Activity includes updates and comments posted directly to activity streams, as well as descriptions of other actions performed while using the site, such as new friendships, newly joined groups, and profile updates.

The content of activity items obeys the same privacy rules as the contexts in which they are created. For example, activity updates created in a user’s profile is publicly visible, while activity items generated in a private group are visible only to members of that group. Site administrators can view all activity items, regardless of context.

Activity items may be deleted at any time by users who created them. Site administrators can edit all activity items.

The content of private messages is visible only to the sender and the recipients of the message. Private message content is never visible to other users or site visitors.

We use a cookie to show success and failure messages to logged-in users in response to certain actions, like joining a group. These cookies contain no personal data and are deleted immediately after the next page load.

We use cookies on group, member, and activity directories to keep track of a user’s browsing preferences. These preferences include the last-selected values of the sort and filter dropdowns, as well as pagination information. These cookies contain no personal data and are deleted after 24 hours.

When a logged-in user creates a new group, we use a number of cookies to keep track of the group creation process. These cookies contain no personal data and are deleted either upon the successful creation of the group or after 24 hours.

7. Mailster

If you have signed up for our newsletter, you may receive emails from us. This includes, but is not limited to, transactional emails and marketing emails.

We’ll only send emails to which you have explicitly or implicitly signed up (registration, product purchase, etc.).

On signup, we collect your email address, your name, your current location, your current IP address and timestamp of signup, your IP address and timestamp when you have confirmed your subscription, and the current web address where you signed up.

We send our emails via a service called Gmail by Google

Once you get an email from us, we track if you open the email in your email client, if you click a link in the email, your current location, and your current IP address.

We respect your browser’s “Do Not Track” feature, which means we do not track your interaction with our emails.

8. WP Statistics

While you visit our site, we’ll track:

  1. Pages you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, Website visit statistics and user behavior
  2. Browser user agent: we’ll use this for purposes like creating charts of views, most used browsers, etc.
  3. An anonymized string is created from your IP address. (For example, 888.888.888.888 > 888.888.888.000).
  4. A hashed string is created from your IP address.

9. Microsoft Clarity

We partner with Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising to capture how you use and interact with our website through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay to improve and market our products/services.

Website usage data is captured using first- and third-party cookies and other tracking technologies to determine the popularity of products and services and online activity.

Additionally, we use this information for site optimization, fraud/security purposes, and advertising.

5. How is your information shared?

We will not transfer your personal information to any third party without seeking your consent, except in limited circumstances as described below:

  1. Ad service
  2. Marketing agencies
  3. Analytics

We require such a third party to use the personal information we transfer to them only for the purpose for which it was transferred and not to retain it for longer than is required for
fulfilling the said purpose.

We may also disclose your personal information for the following reasons:

  1. to comply with applicable law, regulation, court order, or other legal processes;
  2. to enforce your agreements with us, including this Privacy Policy; or
  3. to respond to claims that your use of the service violates any third-party rights.

If the service or our company is merged with or acquired by another company, your information will be one of the assets that are transferred to the new owner.

6. Retention of your information

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

We may need to retain certain information for longer periods, such as record-keeping / reporting by applicable law or for other legitimate reasons like enforcement of legal rights, fraud prevention, etc.

Residual anonymous information and aggregate information, neither of which identifies you (directly or indirectly), may be stored indefinitely.

7. What are your rights?

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

9. Information security

The security of your information is important, and we will use reasonable security measures to prevent the loss, misuse, or unauthorized alteration of your information under our
control.

The following include some of the ways we protect your data:

  1. We employ WordPress’ built-in security and best practices, and we keep all our software up-to-date.
  2. We use WordFence in conjunction with additional security measures to prevent and block attacks.
  3. We use MailPoet to manage our email subscriptions; all email data is processed and saved on MailPoet’s secure servers.
  4. To help avoid phishing, spam, and fraud, our emails are directly validated by our host.
  5. Askimet is used to prevent and block spam.
  6. Data collected by Google Analytics is saved on their safe servers.
  7. For online data transfer, we have HTTPS protocols and SSL certificates.

10. Third-party websites

Our service may contain links to other websites that are not operated by us. This privacy policy does not address the privacy policy and other practices of any third parties, including any third party operating any website or service that may be accessible via a link on the service.
