A website is made up of multiple web pages, each connected to the others by hyperlinks.
Websites have distinctive domain names, ours is renixconsulting.com, which can be accessed by typing it into the URL space on any web browser.

Components of a website
Websites are hosted on servers and are accessed using a web browser like Google Chrome or Firefox either on a desktop computer or on a mobile phone.
Direct access to a website is possible by typing in its URL address or by looking for it on a search engine like Google or Bing.
The main components of a website include the following…
1. Domain name
This is the address of a website, it is also known as the Unified Resource Locator (URL) e.g. ours is renixconsulting.com
2. Website Hosting
This is the physical location of website files. To have your website files accessible on the internet, it has to be hosted on a web server. Web servers are maintained by hosting providers. For our site, we make use of Bluehost web hosting.
3. Website Software
This is the software a website runs on.
WordPress is the most common website software used around the world.
We also make use of WordPress on our site.
4. Homepage and other pages
A website is made up of a collection of web pages, commonly the homepage, about, contact, etc.

5. Website Design
This refers to the general appearance and feel of a website, and it is a result of the proper use of navigation menus, graphics, layout, etc.
